Duties
and Responsibilities |
|
| |
- Collaborates with the Clinical Information Systems Manager to ensure a consistent approach is followed within the Meditech modules.
- Manages the day-to-day operation of various clinical modules
- Co-ordinates training sessions and provides support to departmental trainers.
- Conducts training when required for Patient Care, Physician Care Manager, Order Entry, Provider Order Management and Enterprise Medical Record applications
- Provides support to the Help desk telephones and uses first level problem solving techniques to analyze and troubleshoot end user issues/problems related to the HCIS applications
- Enters customer service activities as tickets in the department’s Help Desk software
- Monitors the Help Desk tickets to resolve requests.
- Interacts with the technical staff to solicit feedback on improved usage of the network
- Provides training on HCIS systems and co-ordinates access set up for newly hired employees
- Prepares documentation for new and existing departmental system processes
- Serves as a primary contact with Meditech for service issues related to specific modules
- Ensures workload measurement is included in clinical applications following the MIS Ministry of Health Guidelines
- Conducts quality assurance audits on different aspects of the Meditech system and reports finding to appropriate personnel
- Maintains a valid and accurate training database including maintenance and synchronization of training and live dictionaries for clinical applications
- Develops and maintains training manuals for clinical applications. Validates and prioritizes user requests for systems enhancements
- Participates in the on-call rotation as scheduled, ensuring that pages are responded to in a timely fashion
- Creation of and changes to NPR and other reports using HCIS data

Candidate
Requirements |
|
| |
- Completion of a Bachelors degree in a health related field
- Demonstrated knowledge and application of adult learning principles
- Five years relevant work experience, preferably within the Health care environment
- Previous experience with providing end user computer support from an applications and device standpoint
- Strong problem solving, customer relations, telephone etiquette and organizational skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in the English language
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in both a team environment, and independently
- Intermediate computer knowledge of MS Office programs, Meditech, HEAT, and SMS
- Knowledge of Ministry of Health Clinical Workload measurement tools/systems preferred
- Previous Meditech software experience preferred
